PARADE ROUTE / PARKING
- Come early. The parade starts promptly at 6:30pm and we are expectingย a lotย of people, so please get to LaGrangeโs business corridor before 6:00pm.ย
- Detours will begin approximately at 6:20pm so you will want to be parked and in place before then.
- Find a great viewing spot. Please avoid setting up your chairs, at the circle, near Arlington High School. Traffic coordinators will merge and detour cars down Stringham road from there throughout the parade, therefore, your best viewing will be done towards the middle of the route.
- For those with limited mobility, strollers and wheelchairs, parking on the Lexington Plaza/ McDonaldโs side may provide the best access as sidewalks are contiguous, closer to the parking lots and on the side of the floats.
- Parking is available in surrounding parking lots and plazas. Please make sure you are in valid spaces and parking is at your own risk. Arlington High School is used for staging of parade floats. THERE WILL BE NO PARKING FOR SPECTATORS IN THE ARLINGTON HIGH SCHOOL LOT. Please note you will not be able to exit, or enter, parking lots once the route has been closed.
PARADE FESTIVITIES / TIPS
- Portable Restrooms will be in Lexington Park, near R & R Orthodontics.
- There will be no parade walkers, other than the Recreation Department, Law Enforcement or previously approved parade performers.
- Please watch children carefully. Do not allow children to run into the road where the vehicles, especially those higher up, may not be able to see them.ย Volunteers from LaGrange Highway and Parks and Recreation Departments will be coming to YOU with complimentary candy (while supplies last) before the parade begins.
- While you wait please visit local businesses to grab a bite to eat!
- Donโt forget your camera! Strolling characters will be along the parade route for photo opportunities.
- Stay in touch! The holidays are a chance to make memories. Be sure to post your pictures using hashtags #LagParksandRec. Check our Facebook page for parade updates!
