Planning Department

The Planning Department is charged with a number of responsibilities, including the following:

•    Supporting the Planning Board’s review and approval of planning applications, including site plans, special use permits, and subdivisions;
•    Advising the Town Board on updating the Town’s Zoning Ordinance, Comprehensive Plan, and related local laws and land use studies;
•    Meeting with land owners and prospective developers to discuss land development opportunities, natural resource constraints, zoning
     applicability, and other planning issues; and
•    Review of any matter referred by the Town Board and report to the Town Board.

The Planning Board consists of seven (7) members and one (1) alternate member appointed each year for the purpose of substituting when a regular member is unable.

Each member serves a seven (7) year term, with one member’s term expiring at the end of every calendar year. There is no term limit for Planning Board members.
