Freedom Lake is a 3.3 acre natural aquafir lake with a sand beach within Freedom Park.
It is approximately 15-20' deep and home to the Freedom Lake Rockers swim team.

Freedom Lake is open to 2022 Season Pass holders or LaGrange Resident Day Pass holders and their paying guests.
Photo ID & proof of residency are required.


2022 FREEDOM LAKE HOURS:
Opens Memorial Day Weekend, 5/28 - 5/30 and 6/4 - 6/5, 11-7pm*
Opens daily 6/11, including weekdays, through 9/5, 11-7pm*
*weather permitting

LAKE CLOSURE:
Waterfront staff follow the National Lightning Safety Institute safety policies.  We will do our best to notify all via text and online of any changes to opening or closing times.

Please follow posted rules and respect staff as well as other patrons.




2022 FREEDOM LAKE PASSES

Registration opens online at www.lagrangeparksandrec.com and in-person on the following dates:
Residents:  Tuesday, 3/1/22 at 9am
Non-Residents*:  Tuesday, 3/15/22 at 9am - SOLD OUT
*There are a limited number of Non-Resident passes for 2022.

We encourage you to create or update your household account information prior to registration day at www.lagrangeparksandrec.com.

You will be requested to upload a photo for each person on pass at time of registration.

2022 Season Pass Fees:
Individual        $50 / $100 Non-Resident
Family* of 2    $75 / $150 Non-Resident
Family* of 3    $95 / $190 Non-Resident
Family* of 4    $105 / $210 Non-Resident
Additional family* members: $15 each

Children ages 2 and under: Free
Seniors ages 62+: Free / $20 Non-Resident

* A "family" is up to 2 parents and their unmarried kids under 24 years of age living permanently in the residence, year round. If multiple generations reside or live in the same residence, each must create their own account.


2022 Day Pass Fees:
Available to LaGrange Residents only.
$5/person.

Children ages 2 and under, Seniors : Free
Seniors ages 62+: Free

Photo ID and proof of residency with a tax or utility bill must be provided at time of purchase.  No exceptions.
 

Guest Pass Fees:
Season Pass holders and Day Pass holders ages 18+ may bring up to 4 paying guests.  Pass holders are responsible for and must stay with their guests.
$10/person.  Children ages 2 and under & Seniors ages 62+: $5. 
 

All season pass holders must scan their key tag(s) upon entry to lake.

If you were a 2021 Freedom Lake Season Pass holder and purchase a pass for 2022, your keytag(s) will be reactivated following your 2022 purchase.  You will not receive a new keytag.  Lost keytag fee is $10 per keytag.

If you were not a 2021 Freedom Lake Season Pass holder and purchase a pass for 2022, your keytag(s) will be mailed to you or picked up at the gate.

Refund Policy For 2022 Freedom Lake Season Passes:
Lake passes are non-refundable.  This includes, but is not limited to, individual and multiple days the lake is closed due to inclement weather, acts of God, flooding, closures made by the Town of LaGrange for any reason, dismissal for behavior and non-usage.

 

PROOF OF RESIDENCY
Photo ID along with a current tax or utility bill is required for proof of residency upon account creation in MyRec.

2022 SWIM LESSONS

Registration for all Swim Lessons opens online at www.lagrangeparksandrec.com and in-person on the following dates:
Residents:  Tuesday, 4/5/22 at 9am
Non-Residents*:  Tuesday, 4/19/22 at 9am

Red Cross certified swim lessons for ages 3 and up in Freedom Lake.  With an emphasis on drowning prevention and water safety, courses are available for a variety of ages and skill levels.

Session 1:  July 4-July 15
Session 2:  July 18-July 29
Session 3:  August 1 - August 12

Time varies based on skill level. Visit www.lagrangeparksandrec.com for schedule when available.

Fees:
With Freedom Lake Season Pass:  $65 / $85 Non-Resident
Without Freedom Lake Season Pass:  $105 / $125 Non-Resident
Fees do not cover lake usage before or after lessons.

Please note prior to registering for swim lessons:
- If it is raining, classes will still meet under the pavilion.  If there is a storm, classes will be cancelled with no makeup or refund.
- You may only register for one session at a time due to level testing.
- Pre-swim evaluation may be required.

2022 LIFEGUARD TRAINING

Registration for Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Courses is open online at www.lagrangeparksandrec.com and in person.

Waterfront Lifeguarding Course
The American Red Cross Lifeguard with Waterfront course is designed to take entry level participants with no previous knowledge and turn them into professional rescuers for non-surf environments. The goal is to provide them with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively assist others if an emergency arises.  Ages 15+.

Course A:
$325 / $330 Non-Residents
Pre-course Skills Test*: June 2, 6-8pm
Classes: June 4, 10-5pm; June 5, 9-4pm; June 10, 3:30-7:30pm

Course B: 
$325 / $330 Non-Resident
Pre-course Skills Test*: June 15, 6-8pm
Classes: June 17, 3:30-8:30pm; June 18, 9am-3pm; June 22, 6-8:30pm;
June 24, 9am-2:30pm

Participants must meet a variety of criteria to participate and pass the course successfully:

Recertification Waterfront Course
Lifeguarding recertification classes are designed to update your skills and to renew your current Red Cross Lifeguarding certification valid for another 2 years. Current certification (or expired by no more than 30 days) in Waterfront Lifeguard is required to participate in the recertification course. This course includes CPR for Professional Rescuer.  Ages 15+.

CPR for the Professional Rescuer Challenge
A perfect class for those who have been CPR Pro certified before and who are able to perform the skills and other assessments successfully. People that have never taken a CPR course should reach out to the Red Cross at www.redcross.org to find a local CPR course.  Ages 15+.

$95 / $100 Non-Residents
May 24, 6-8pm  


Please note for all Lifeguard courses:
- You must be available to attend all scheduled classes within the lifeguard course for which you have registered.  No rescheduled dates will be available.
- Completion of any lifeguard course does not guarantee employment with the Town of LaGrange.

Refund Policy For All Programs and Pavilion Rentals:
- No refunds within 6 weeks of start date due to, but not limited to, inclement weather, acts of God, illness, dismissal for behavior issues or non-usage.
- 50% refund up to 6 weeks prior to start date (first day of first session for all programs)
- All cancellation and refund requests must be in writing.
- A doctor note may be required prior to end of program for illness/accident
